Hugo A. Funk

Hugo A. Funk, 79, of 34 Emerson Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Kenmore, N.Y., on May 10, 1925, son of Hugo and Mary Hummel Funk, he was a graduate of Kenmore High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Union College.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Funk was employed by GE as an electrical engineer for more than 40 years, retiring from the ordnance manufacturing division in 1990.
He enjoyed cooking, gardening and sports, especially the Yankees.
He and his wife, the former Joan Frazee, would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary May 5.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Michael Funk of Newport, R.I., Timothy Funk of Pittsfield and Stephen Funk of Encinitas, Calif., and a sister, Gertrude Ruch of Williamsville, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Hugo A. Funk, who died April 25, 2005, will be conducted Thursday at 10 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Dr. Peter D. Boehringer, pastor of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Colonie, N.Y. Calling hours will be today, April 27, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
