Ruth Drake Galliher Murray

Ruth Drake Galliher Murray, 90, formerly of Pomeroy Manor, died Thursday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield, where she had resided for several months.
Born in Albany, N.Y., on Nov. 17, 1914, daughter of Harold and Millerey Maynard Maynard, she moved to Dalton as a child with her family and was a 1932 graduate of the former Dalton High School.
Mrs. Murray was employed for 13 years in the men's department of the former W.T. Grant department store in Pittsfield.
She was a longtime member of Dalton Congregational Church.
She was an organist for Becket Federated and Congregational churches.
Her first husband, Sanford Drake, is deceased.
Her second husband, Richard Galliher, died in 1966.
Her husband, William Murray, died in 1981.
She leaves a son, Becket Fire Chief Stephen Galliher of Becket; a stepson, Sanford Drake of Vista, Calif.; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Ruth Murray, who died April 21, 2005, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 at Dalton Congregational Church by the Rev. Robert Kyte. Burial will follow at North Becket Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Among survivors are her three grandchildren, Christine Simeone, Patrick Galliher and Janice Drake, along with seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Dalton Congregational Church in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
