Wayne Richard Mullaney

Wayne Richard Mullaney, 44, of 288 Peck's Road died Saturday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on July 14, 1960, son of Janice M. Reid Mullaney and the late John F. Mullaney, he attended the former Belchertown State School.

A longtime client with the Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens, Mr. Mullaney participated in its Day Habilitation Program.

He contributed to the community by volunteering time each week at Pittsfield Ceme-tery, picking up trash and debris and tending to flowers.

He enjoyed hiking, bowling and attending dinner dances.

Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves two brothers, William R. Mullaney and Thomas M. Mullaney, both of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Wayne Richard Mullaney, who died Saturday, April 16, 2005, will be Thursday, April 21, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens (BCARC) in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. He also leaves a nephew, Raymond John Mullaney, and a close family friend, Bruce Peck.

His brother, Raymond E. Mullaney, died March 18, 1986.
