Clotilde "Tillie" Esteves, 83, a resident of Hillcrest Commons, died there Tuesday.
She had lived in the Berkshire area since 2003.
Born in New Bedford on Sept. 6, 1921, daughter of Antonio and Natividade Pragana, she spent her childhood in Yonkers, N.Y., and attended schools there.
She moved to New Rochelle, N.Y., in 1950.
Mrs. Esteves had been employed by R.H. Macy Department Stores for 25 years, retiring in 1984 as junior executive in charge of vault and payroll.
Her husband, Leopoldo Esteves, whom she married November 1947, died January 2005.
She leaves a son, Peter Kristopher Esteves of New York City; three daughters, Cynthia Esteves of Bloomfield, Conn., Sylvia Esteves of New York City, and Roberta Ackerman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and a grandson. She also leaves her niece and caregiver, Theresa Swegel of Lee.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Esteves leaves her grandson, Christopher Michael Ackerman of Florida, and her niece and caregiver, Theresa Swegel of Lee. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Louro, Delia Domingos and Lena Makris.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 10 at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabeth Freeman Center in Lee, or to the National Wildlife Foundation in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
