Virginia E. Culver, 83, of Bangor Road, Eddington, Maine, formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Born in Pittsfield on April 4, 1922, daughter of Wyatt and Helena Mickle Maynard, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1940.
Mrs. Culver was a homemaker.
She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church, the Maine Snowmobile Association, Penobscot County Extension, 4-H Club, Eddington Historical Society, Toastmistress Club and the Garden Club, and volunteered at Leonard's Mill in Bradley, all in Maine.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Newton D. Culver; a son, Bruce Culver of Charlotte Hall, Md.; a daughter, Kathleen Gentile of Rural Hall, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara Hoffman of Lebanon, N.Y., and Madeline Pickens of Camden-Wyoming, Del.; a brother, Richard Maynard of Lanesboro; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A service of remembrance for Virginia E. Culver will be conducted Friday, April 15, at 2 at Clifton Baptist Church by the Rev. William Stone, pastor.
Private interment will be held at a later date in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. If you would like to remember Virginia in a special way, contributions may be sent to Clifton Baptist Church, Box 742, Airline Road, Clifton, ME 04428.

She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Ruth Culver; a son-in-law, Michael Gentile; six grandchildren, Ronald Bright, Lynne Beacham, Karen Angelopoulos, Deborah Engle, Richard Culver, Michelle Weiland; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Maynard.
