William J. O'Brien Sr.

William J. O'Brien Sr., 94, formerly of 379 East St., Providence Court, died Wednesday evening at Hillcrest Commons Health Care Facility, where he had resided for 14 months.

Born in Huntington on April 6, 1911, son of William J. and Emma Blanchard O'Brien, he attended schools in Pittsfield.

Mr. O'Brien had been employed by Byron Weston Co. in the finishing room, retiring in 1976 after 12 years of service. He had also worked at the former Berkshire Woolen Mill as a dresser.

He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

His wife, the former Kathrine Londergan, whom he married Feb. 4, 1935, in St. Mary's Church, died April 30, 2004.

He leaves a son, David L. O'Brien Sr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Lynne O'Neill-Sebby of Fort Myers, Fla., 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by another son, William J. O'Brien Jr. who died Jan. 5, 1984.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- William J. O'Brien Sr. died in Pittsfield on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Funeral services will be tomorrow, Saturday, April 9, at 8:15 from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Mary's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, April 8, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.

If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church in care of the funeral home.
