Arturo Guadagno

Arturo Guadagno, 96, formerly of 15 Lake St., died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided since December 2002.
Born in Alife, province of Caserta, Italy, on Dec. 10, 1908, son of Gennaro and Chiarina Venditti Guadagno, he attended schools there.
He came to the United States in 1953.
A stone mason, Mr. Guadagno had been employed by several local contractors and last worked for Louis Allegrone Masonry, retiring in the 1970s.
He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a former member of the Italian American Club.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle and doing masonry projects.
His wife, the former Emma Petruzziello, whom he married Dec. 21, 1936, died Sept. 16, 2000.
He leaves three sons, Luciano G. Guadagno of Lanesboro, Silvano Guadagno of Deltona, Fla., and Sergio Guadagno of Manahawkin, N.J.; a daughter, Adele Borawski of Spotswood, N.J.; three sisters, Vanda Petruzziello of Alife, Adalgisa Cornelio of Naples, Italy, and Bianca Guadagno of Italy, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Arturo Guadagno, who died March 13, 2005, will take place Thursday, March 17, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
