Christine I. Darby, 61, of 38 Lenox Ave. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center, following a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1943, daughter of Homer and Pauline Demary Trapania, she attended local schools.
A homemaker, she had worked for a short time at T.J. Maxx and Rus Laundry Services.
She was an active member of the Christian Assembly Church since 1977.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She and her husband, Richard B. Darby, were married Oct. 15, 1976.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, James E. Nolan of Pittsfield and John J. Nolan of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Beckie A. Jansen and Tammy J. Darby, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Judith A. Hamling of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by another daughter, Jeanine Nolan, and a son, Steven M. Nolan.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Christine I. Darby will be Monday, March 14, 2005 at 9 from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by service at 10 in the Christian Assembly Church, 850 Williams St., with the Rev. Joseph A. Nieves, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 13, from 2 to 4 at the funeral home. Survivors include two grandchildren, Shaun R. Gale and Joshua J. Jansen.
She was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Trapania. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Assembly Church in care of the funeral home.
