Dorothy M. Ellis, 75, of 398 East State St. Extension, Gloversville, N.Y., died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Lynn Skowron of 14 Stoddard Ave., where she had resided for six months.
Born in Gloversville on March 12, 1929, daughter of Clyde and Gladys Vickery Wilder, she graduated from schools there.
Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker.
She was a Moose member in the Loyal Order of the Rebeccas, where she was a star recorder.
Her husband, Robert L. Ellis, whom she married Aug. 28, 1958, died April 28, 1992.
Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Margaret Duesler of Northville, N.Y.; five sons, William Ellis of Tennessee, Ronald Ellis, Larry Ellis and Michael Ellis, all of Gloversville, and Richard Ellis of West Bend, Wis.; 37 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Wayne Ellis in 1991 and Danny Ellis in 1996.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Dorothy M. Ellis died in Pittsfield on Sunday, March 6, 2005. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 at HOLLENBECK FUNERAL HOME, 4 Second St., Gloversville, N.Y.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Gloversville. Burial will be in the spring in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, which is handling local arrangements.
