Fay L. Casella, 74, of 21 Hawthorne Ave. died Friday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was co-owner of Parkside Restaurant.
Born in Pittsfield on July 30, 1930, daughter of Frederick and Mary Farrell Murphy, she was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Over the years, Mrs. Casella served many homemade meals and lunches at the Parkside. Before that, she was employed for more than 30 years by the former New England Telephone Co.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and enjoyed cooking and reading.
She and her husband, Robert J. Casella, were married Sept. 25, 1954.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Jay Casella of Pittsfield; a sister, Marion Coffey of Albany, N.Y., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Fay L. Casella, co-owner of Parkside Restaurant, who died March 4, 2005, was the beloved grandmother to Brandon and Alyssa and mother-in-law to Kris Casella. A memorial service will be celebrated Wednesday, March 9, at 10 at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Parkside Restaurant immediately following the Mass. Mrs. Casella also leaves several nieces and nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by three sisters, Eleanor Lacasse, Aileen Kennedy and Jean Sperlungo, and a brother, John Murphy. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME in her memory.
