Harold S. Musselwhite Jr.

Harold S. Musselwhite Jr., 83, 14 Clifford St. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 24, 1921, son of Harold S. Musselwhite Sr. and Hazel Peterson Musselwhite, he graduated from schools there and from the College of Insurance in New York. He also took medical courses in New York state.

He moved to Pittsfield in 1990.

He served in the Navy Reserve from 1952 to 1960.

Mr. Musselwhite was employed as an insurance investigator for Aetna Life and Casualty for many years, then worked for the Claims Service Bureau of New York Inc. in Lynbrook, N.Y. He also held a real estate license.

He was a member of United Methodist Church and the Crescent-Pittsfield Lodge of Masons, and was a master of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

He did volunteer work at BMC and was a pastoral visitor.

He and his wife, the former Geraldine Billet, were married Nov. 29, 1947.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Joy Aimetti of Mount Sinai, N.Y., and Susan Coelho of Pittsfield; a son, Richard John Musselwhite of Centereach, N.Y., and eight grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Harold Musselwhite Jr., who died Feb. 25, 2005, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 at First United Methodist Church, Fenn Street, by the Rev. Dr. Roger Davis, pastor. Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, with a Masonic service at 7. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crescent-Pittsfield Lodge of Masons, or the ChIPS Program in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his sons-in-law Richard Aimetti and Luis Coelho; a daughter-in-law, Jeannine Musselwhite, and grandchildren, Ann Marie Faulkner, Christine Aimetti, Catherine, Richard J. Jr., Laura and Brianne Musselwhite, and Michael and Tyler Coelho.
