Edith P. West, 96, formerly of 379 East St., Providence Court, died Saturday at Springside of Pittsfield Health Care Facility, where she had resided since 2003.
Born in Southwick, England, on Sept. 25, 1908, daughter of Ernest and Alice Musselwhite Lacey, she moved to New York City as a child and graduated from high school and business school there.
Mrs. West was employed as a secretary for Consolidated Edison Co.
She moved to Miami in 1943 and, from 1960 to 1975, worked as a school bus driver.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1987.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Douglas West, whom she married Nov. 8, 1926, in New York, died in 1959.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia Walker of Windsor and Barbara A. West of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Edith P. West, 96, died in Pittsfield on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005. The funeral will be tomorrow, March 1, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 to 11.
Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
