Rose M. Chiorgno, 89, of 379 East St., Providence Court, formerly of Cocoa Beach, Fla., died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 9, 1916, daughter of Joseph and Anna Mele Monteleone, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Chiorgno was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Pittsfield School Department for nine years, retiring in 1972.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a charter member of its Ladies' Guild. While in Cocoa Beach, she was a communicant of Our Savior's Church.
Her husband, Mario N. Chiorgno, whom she married June 20, 1936, died Sept. 5, 1999.
She leaves a son, Donald J. Chiorgno of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Joanne F. Haddad and Marcia M. Fabino, both of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Rose M. Chiorgno, 89, who died Feb. 26, 2005, will be Thursday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Members of Mount Carmel's Ladies' Guild will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 for a wake service.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pittsfield chapter of the UNICO Make-a-Wish Foundation in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She was predeceased by four sisters and six brothers.
