Cecile L. Martin, 99, of 89 South St., Berkshire Place, where she had lived for the past 20 years, died there on Sunday, Feb. 20.
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., Nov. 9, 1905, daughter of Charles and Malvina Brouillette, she moved to Adams as a child and attended local schools there.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker. She was a self-taught writer and was published. She also taught herself to paint and was an accomplished artist.
She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church.
Her husband, Raymond J. Martin, died on Feb. 14, 1977.
She leaves two sons, Robert Martin of Gulfport, Fla., and Raymond Martin of Hinsdale, three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Cecile L. Martin, 99, who died Feb. 20, 2005, will be on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Teresa's Church by the Rev. John J. Varley, pastor.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be on Friday from 3 to 5 at the funeral home. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Martin; and her nieces, Verita Williams and Carol Deresh.
