John Klironomous

John Klironomous, 81, of 35 High St. died Tuesday at Williamstown Commons.

Born in Lakonias, Greece, on Oct. 23, 1923, son of Dimitrios and Eleni Papastratihou Klironomous, he attended schools there.

He immigrated to the United States in 1970, settling in the Berkshires to be near family.

Mr. Klironomous had owned a farm while in Greece. He had worked part time at Palace Pizza.

He was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Pittsfield.

His wife, the former Vasiliki Malihouthes, died Nov. 10, 2002.

He leaves two daughters, Venetia Latisis of Dalton and Eleni Anagnos of North Adams; a sister, Ageliki Dionisopovlos of Greece, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Greek Orthodox service for John Klironomous, who died Feb. 22, 2005, will be conducted at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church on Friday at 12:30, followed by burial in Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton. Calling hours will be Friday from 10 to noon at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME.

Among survivors are his sons-in-law, Constantine Anagnos of North Adams and Pantelis Latsis of Dalton; his grandchildren, Theodore, Dionisia, Bessie, John and Nicole Anagnos of North Adams, John and Petro Latsis of Dalton, Anthony and Vasiliki Fratello of Dalton, Jeffrey and Anna Hewson of Worcester, and his great-grandchildren, Daizie and Lillie Fratello and Alexa Latsis of Dalton, and Peter Hewson of Worcester.

Memorial donations may be made to St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01230.
