Margaret M. "Honey" Gaudette

Margaret M. "Honey" Gaudette, 72, of 239 South St. died Wednesday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.

She had lived on South Street since 1973.

Born in Pittsfield, Jan. 31, 1933, daughter of Frederick and Margaret M. Hooker Cook, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and attended St. Joseph's Central High School.

Mrs. Gaudette had been employed by Crane & Co, in Dalton as a sorter and inspector in the finishing room. She retired in 1995 with 25 years of service.

She was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba. She also enjoyed bingo and was a NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan.

Her husband, Henry J. Gaudette, whom she married Sept. 1, 1956, in St. Mary the Morning Star Church, died May 29, 1997.

She leaves a son, Daniel J. Gaudette of Dalton; a daughter, Catherine M. Gazaw of Pittsfield; three brothers, Edward Cook of Housatonic, Michael Cook of Pittsfield, and John Cook of the state of Georgia; four sisters, Theresa Olszewski of Housatonic, Carol A. Potter of Pownal, Vt., and Mary E. Grady and Donna M. Boldyga of Pittsfield; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Margaret M. "Honey" Gaudette will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at 8 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Charles Church, Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.

Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gaudette may be made to Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.

Her greatest love was her grandchildren. She leaves Tamara Viana of Pittsfield, Tyler and Jillian Gaudette of Dalton, and a great-granddaughter Daniela Viana. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Cook of Pittsfield and Leo Cook of Richmond, Va.
