Dorothy M. Bogardus, 90, formerly of Pomeroy Manor on East Deming Street, died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
She had resided at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility for the past two weeks.
Born July 20, 1914, in Saco, Maine, daughter of Harry and Harriette Northrop Miles, she graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, in 1932.
She also graduated from the School of Fine Applied Arts in 1938, and from the University of Maine with a degree in the history of art.
Mrs. Bogardus was an advertising account executive with the New Haven Register for 15 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1978.
She was a member of the Quota Club in New Haven. She moved from North Branford, Conn., to Dalton in 1988.
She loved to travel. A 21-day trip to China was her favorite, as she enjoyed Chinese art and culture immensely.
Her husband, John O. Bogardus, died Nov. 15, 1963.
She leaves a sister, Betty-Jean Bent of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- At the request of Mrs. Bogardus, there will be no services or calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the Disabled Veterans of New England in care of the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226 who are in charge of arrangements.
She is predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
