Joseph George Brigley, 40, of 106 John St. died Sunday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after suffering an apparent aneurysm.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 28, 1964, son of John R. Brigley Sr. and Marilyn Schnopp Brigley of Dalton, he was a 1982 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
He had served in the Navy.
At the time of his death, Mr. Brigley was mill manager for Berkshire Hardwood in Chesterfield, a position he had held for 10 years.
He had earlier been a carpenter with Schnopp Construction.
At one time, he was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church.
He and his wife, the former Jody Mathison, were married Aug. 15, 1992.
Besides his parents and his wife, he leaves a son, Dalton J. Brigley of Dalton; a stepson, Morgan P. Mathison of Dalton; a daughter, Vanessa Brigley; three brothers, David A. Brigley of Dalton, Michael J. Brigley of Plainfield and Daniel W. Brigley of Pittsfield; a sister, Melinda Quermann of Marietta, Ga., and his maternal grandmother, Lillian Schnopp of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Joseph George Brigley, who died Feb. 13, 2005, will be Thursday, Feb. 17, at 10:15 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Agnes' Church by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to establish the Brigley Children's Trust Fund in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
He was predeceased by a brother, John R. Brigley Jr., on May 24, 1986.
