Margaret M. Macey

Margaret M. Macey, 94, of 109 Housatonic St. died Saturday morning at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided for a few months.

Born in Lenox on July 2, 1910, daughter of Eugene and Mary Harrer Mackey, she was a 1927 graduate of Lenox High School and graduated from nursing school in 1930.

A resident of Springfield for 60 years, she returned to Lenox to make her home at Cameron House in 2001.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Macey was employed by Package Machinery Co. in Springfield for many years, retiring in 1976.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield and a member of its Over 60 Club.

She was also a member of the American Industrial Nurses Association.

Her husband, Lawrence Macey, died in 1975.

She leaves a sister, Anne Thorne of Lee.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Margaret M. Macey, who died Feb. 12, 2005, will be tomorrow, Feb. 15, at 10:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Ann's Church in Lenox.

Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Mrs. Macey's family will receive friends at the funeral home tomorrow morning from 9:30 until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make donations in her memory to the St. Ann's Parish Center Fund or to the Lenox Library, both in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox MA 01240.

Mrs. Macey also is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene J. Mackey Jr., a prominent St. Louis architect, in 1968, and by her sister, Helen Mutter, in 1973.
