Elizabeth A. Davis, 80, of 80 Daytona Ave. died Thursday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a long illness.
Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Nov. 7, 1924, daughter of John and Rose Sucharzewski Stankewich, she graduated from Wilmington (Vt.) High School.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1950.
Mrs. Davis was employed by GE for 32 years, retiring from the ordnance division as an accountant in 1983.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and AARP.
She also volunteered for Elder Services and was a supporter of Berkshire United Way. She enjoyed cooking, animals and gardening.
Her husband, Eugene F. Davis, whom she married Jan. 27, 1968, died March 15, 1989.
She leaves two sons, Edwin S. Davis of Cheshire and William J. Davis of the state of Florida; a daughter, Beverly Boni of Williamstown; a sister, Helen Maroni of Readsboro; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private memorial service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth A. Davis, who died Feb. 10, 2005, will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire.
A graveside service will follow at the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Tina Marie Costa Davis of Cheshire; four grandchildren, Neal, Jeremy, Kristen and Sondra Rose; and a great-grandchild, Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
