John D. Bromback

John D. Bromback, 77, of 7 Bentley Terrace, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 9, 1927, son of John J. and Catherine Haggerty Bromback, he was a lifelong resident and attended local schools.

A World War II Army veteran, he served in the Asian Pacific theater.

Mr. Bromback was employed at the former Berkshire Woolen Mill for 17 years and later as a delivery man for TexGas/Suburban Propane in New Lebanon, N.Y. He retired in 1985 after 20 years of service.

He was a communicant of St. Charles Church.

He leaves his wife, the former Clare A. St. James, whom he married June 1, 1957, in St. Charles Church; two sons, John J. Bromback of Savoy and Daniel J. Bromback of Pittsfield; a daughter, Judith M. Rodick of Pittsfield; two brothers, Bernard Bromback of Pittsfield and Jerome Bromback of Hinsdale; two sisters, Katherine Grandbois of Plymouth and Mary Lou DiNicola of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. John D. Bromback died in Pittsfield Friday, Feb. 4. Beloved grandfather to Christopher and Michael Rodick. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 7, at 9 from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home Sunday, Feb. 6, from 2 to 5. In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to St. Charles Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Bromback in 1988.
