Annie Mary Albano, 80, of 65 Hawthorne Ave. died Thursday morning at home.
She had resided there for the past 52 years.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 1, 1924, daughter of Concetto and Chiairina Taglieri Mazzacco, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Albano had been employed as a bookkeeper at the Itam Lodge for several years, retiring in 1987. Prior to this, she had worked at GE and for the former Anne's Card and Gift Shoppe on North Street.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church, where she taught C.C.D. She was a former member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 and held several offices.
She was a member of the Italian American Club Women's Bowling League, where she served as secretary.
She had also been a Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking.
She and her husband, James Joseph Albano, were married Oct. 18, 1952.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, David J. Albano Sr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Diane J. Albano of Pittsfield; two brothers, Nicholas Mazzacco of Ansonia, Conn., and Peter Mazzacco Sr. of Adams; two sisters, Rose Furci and Julia Arace, both of Pittsfield, and two grandsons.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Annie Mary Albano will be Monday, Jan. 31, at 10:15 from the DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mark Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.
Mrs. Albano also leaves her two grandsons, David J. Albano Jr. and Daniel J. Albano.
