The Rev. Miriam B. Eckard, 80, of Wilmont Street, Torrington, Conn., died Wednesday morning at the Hospital for Specialty Care in New Britain, Conn.
Born in West Collingswood, N.J., on June 13, 1924, daughter of Lewis D. and Marie Dorothy Price Eckard, she was a graduate of the University of Maryland, and Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
In 1981, she assumed the ministry of Morningside Baptist Church in Pittsfield, her first pastorate following 28 years in the ministry.
She leaves a brother, Lewis D. Eckard Jr. of Rockville, Md.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for the Rev. Miriam B. Eckard will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 11 at the NUTTING-ROWE FUNERAL HOME, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, Conn.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 5 at the funeral home.
