Catherine F. "Kay" O'Gara, 80, of 69 Warren Ave. died Sunday at home.
Born at 69 Warren Ave. on April 8, 1924, daughter of Martin and Katherine Dwyer O'Gara, she was a 1942 graduate of the former Dalton High School.
Ms. O'Gara had been employed as a secretary at GE for 42 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church.
She was a member of the GE Pensioners' and Quarter Century clubs.
She leaves a brother, John O'Gara of West Palm, Fla., and a sister, Mary Pelt of St. Augustine, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Catherine F. "Kay" O'Gara, 80, of Dalton, who died Jan. 23, 2005, will be held Thursday at 9:15 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes' Church.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton. Kay enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also leaves 20 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Perry, and by two brothers, James O'Gara and Martin O'Gara.
She was also predeceased by her companion by many years, Frank Bowman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Agnes' Church Memorial Fund or to the Dalton Ambulance Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
