Carolynn L. "Lynn" Shook

Carolynn L. "Lynn" Shook, 59, of 18 Burke Ave., died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Takoma Park, Md., on July 16, 1945, daughter of Wilbur H. and Carol Woodall Turner, she was educated in Maryland schools and was a 1963 graduate of Montgomery High School in Rockville, Md.

She had resided in Pittsfield for 34 years.

Mrs. Shook was a therapeutic caregiver for the elderly and foster children through DARE Family Services, Elder Services, Healing Homes and Specialized Home Care for 12 years. She also worked for the former Allegro Tech and Kmart, both in Pittsfield.

She was a member of the Pittsfield congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed music, working on the computer and word games. She also enjoyed being with friends and family, helping others and doing genealogy.

She leaves her husband, Clinton A. Shook Jr., whom she married March 16, 1974, in Pittsfield; her stepmother, Betty Anne Turner of Rockville; two daughters, Theresa R. Cunningham of Pittsfield and Kathleen E. Johnson of Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, Robert F. Hynes of Pittsfield; a sister, Regina M. Heppes of Germantown, Md., and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial services for Carolynn "Lynn" Shook, 59, of Pittsfield, who died Jan. 21, 2005, will be held Sunday at 2 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Dalton Division Road. At Carolynn's request, following cremation burial of her ashes will take place at a later date.

There are no calling hours. Carolynn also leaves her loving grandchildren, Ryan and Steven Hynes and Elijah and Abigail Cunningham. Carolynn also enjoyed being with family and friends and helping others.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Watchtower Society of Jehovah's Witnesses in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
