Bruce D. Fiddes

Bruce D. Fiddes, 35, of 9209 Fry St., Manassas, Va., died suddenly at home Tuesday.

Born in Pittsfield on May 31, 1969, son of Gordon B. and Lynn Law Fiddes, he was a 1987 graduate of Pittsfield High School and received his associates degree in criminal justice from Berkshire Community College in 1990 and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from American University in Washington, D.C., in 1993.

Mr. Fiddes was first employed by the IRS in Washington for two years and then worked for a private protection firm in Fort Belvoir, Va.

While in Pittsfield he attended First United Methodist Church.

As a youth, he was involved in Indian Guides at the YMCA and was a member of the Dalton Police Explorers for several years.

Besides his parents of Pittsfield, he leaves three sisters, Linda Huck of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Nancy Rudolph of Delmar, N.Y., and Jennifer Fiddes of Latham, N.Y.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mr. Bruce D. Fiddes will be Monday at 11 at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsfield with the Rev. Roger A. Davis, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the spring in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund in care of the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield 01201.

Survivors include his five nieces and nephews, Brian, Emily, and Kevin Rudolph of Delmar and Christopher and Lauryn Huck of Saratoga Springs.
