Ralph Sample, 95, died Wednesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where he had lived since November.
Born in Mooers Forks, N.Y., on June 21, 1909, son of Artie and Sarah Davidson Sample, he attended schools there.
Mr. Sample was employed by the former Wyandotte Worsted Mill and E.D. Jones in Pittsfield and Beloit Corp. in Dalton.
He enjoyed making doll houses and loved country music.
His wife, the former Jennie Soldato, whom he married in June 1932, died on Jan. 7, 1992. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Ralph Sample will take place Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker CSS, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
Following cremation, burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Winnie Desrosiers.
