Robbie J. Harford, 33, of 18 Cliff St. died at Berkshire Medical Center on Wednesday following a brief illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 24, 1971, son of Diane Caparrelli Harford Bateman and the late Ernest R. Harford Jr., he attended Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Harford was employed as a toll collector for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority from October 1997 until the time of his death.
He enjoyed bowling, hiking, the outdoors and animals.
He was a New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Besides his mother of Pittsfield, he leaves his wife, the former Hope Wendling, whom he married Feb. 9, 2004; three daughters, Clarissa Jordan, Miranda Harford and Jillian Harford, all of Pittsfield; two stepsons, Jacob Wendling and Justin Wendling, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Kristie Harford of Pittsfield; two brothers, Jamie "Joey" Bateman and Daniel Bateman, both of Pittsfield; his stepfather, William Bateman of Pittsfield, and his maternal grandfather, John Caparrelli of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robbie J. Harford will be held Saturday at 1 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Eric Dupee, pastor of Lenox United Methodist Church, officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the spring in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home from 11 to 1 on Saturday. Among survivors are his mother- and father-in-law, Robert and Christine Carmel of Dalton; his niece, Shelbie Lussier, and his nephew, Alex Lussier; his sisters-in-law, Amanda Carmel of Dalton and Lisa Simonetta and her husband, Joseph, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home at 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
