Marilyn A. Johnson, 75, of 45 Patricia Ave. died Monday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 26, 1929, daughter of William D. and Rachel A. Sidway McMahon, she was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Johnson was employed for 30 years by Western Massachusetts Electric Co., retiring in 1987. She had earlier worked at the former New England Telephone.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club and the GE Athletic Association. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She and her late husband, Robert C. Johnson, enjoyed many winters in Florida after retiring.
Her husband, whom she married Nov. 16, 1969, died Feb. 18, 2004.
She leaves two sons, Michael C. Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., and Robert M. Johnson of Tucson, Ariz., and three sisters, Jean Fitzsimmons, Carol Brennan and Eileen Murphy, all of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a son, James T. Johnson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Marilyn A. Johnson died in Pittsfield on Monday, Jan. 17, 2005. Funeral services will be Friday at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 in St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, Jan. 20, from 4 to 7. Mrs. Johnson loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and her many nieces and nephews. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the Jimmy Fund in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by a brother, William D. McMahon.
