James R. Biagini

James R. Biagini, 83, of 17 Howe Road died Sunday at home.
Born in Cheshire on Sept. 16, 1921, son of Raffe and Adele Graziani Biagini, he was a 1941 graduate of the former Adams High School.
A decorated Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European theater and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Biagini was employed as a mechanic at the former Hellawell Cadillac Oldsmobile, retiring in 1986.
He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
His wife, the former Theresa A. Goodnow, whom he married Feb. 18, 1950, died March 21, 1996.
He leaves two sons, Joseph Biagini of Pittsfield and Francis Biagini of Peru; three daughters, Mary Biagini of Grand Junction, Colo., Dolores Biagini of Venus, Fla., and Cathy Briggs of Pittsfield; a sister, Permitta Barosso of Pittsfield; a brother, Anthony Biagini of Cheshire, and seven grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- James R. Biagini of Pittsfield died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005. The funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 20, at 11:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at noon at St. Mary's Church by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Burial will be in Cheshire Cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours will be tomorrow, Jan. 19, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
