Roman Huda

Roman Huda, 58, of Pittsfield died Wednesday at home after a short illness.
Born in Wintermore, Germany, on April 30, 1946, son of Stefania Hawrylowycz Huda and the late Stefan Huda, he camed to the United States and attended Ukrainian Catholic schools in New York City.
He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from City College of New York. He moved to Pittsfield in 1969.
Mr. Huda had been employed by GE as an electrical engineer, retiring in 2002 from General Dynamics after 33 years of service.
He enjoyed fixing electronic devices and was an avid crossword puzzle fan.
He enjoyed watching football and followed all of the New York teams.
He was a member of GE Pensioners' and Quarter Century clubs.
Besides his mother, of Astoria, N.Y., he leaves a brother, Orest Huda of Pittsfield; three daughters, Kristina Huda-Dimen of Rhode Island, Kathryn Huda of New Jersey and Halena Huda of Pittsfield; his former wife, Lydia Huda of Pittsfield, and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Roman Huda, 58, was called safely home on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005. Funeral services wil be held in Astoria, N.Y. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Claro Dimen; granddaughter, Ashley Madison Dimen; a sister-in-law, and three nieces.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
