Bertha M. Valinski, 96, formerly of 76 Hollister St. died yesterday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided for a year.
Born in Hudson, N.H., on June 13, 1908, daughter of Alexander and Anna Belevick, she attended schools in Rutland.
She moved from Worcester to Pittsfield in 1990.
Mrs. Valinski had been employed as a cafeteria worker at Worcester State Hospital from 1959 until 1969.
She was a member of Greater Grace Church of the Berkshires in Lee.
She enjoyed crocheting and cooking, especially Lithuanian foods.
Her husband, Joseph Valinski, whom she married Sept. 5, 1932, died Nov. 11, 1965.
She leaves a daughter, Eleanor Sevigny of Pittsfield, with whom she made her home; two sons, Edward Valinski of Eastham and Joseph Valinski of Starke, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Bertha M. Valinski, who died Jan. 11, 2004, will be conducted Thursday at 10 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. David Stambovsky of Greater Grace Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester on Thursday at 2:30.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
