Lillian "Eileen" Kennedy

Lillian "Eileen" Kennedy, 86, formerly of 1026 State Road died Monday morning at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided for a year.

Born in Pittsfield on July 2, 1918, daughter of Francis E. Dwyer Sr. and Viola A. Young Dwyer, she was a 1935 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mrs. Kennedy had been employed as a cashier at the former Big N store on West Housatonic Street in Pittsfield for many years. Earlier, she had worked at GE in Pittsfield.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge.

She was a member of the Richmond Seniors, and enjoyed crocheting and crafts.

Her husband, John A. Kennedy, whom she married Sept. 7, 1948, in Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield, died Aug. 6, 1987.

She leaves three daughters, Kathleen M. Malumphy of Richmond, Linda E. Kennedy of Lenox and Marilou A. Deshais of Windsor, Conn.; two sons, John F. Kennedy of New Lebanon, N.Y., and William J. Kennedy of Pittsfield; a sister, Beryl Warren of Brooksville, Fla.; a brother, Gerald Dwyer of Charleston, S.C., 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Lillian "Eileen" Dwyer Kennedy, age 86, was called safely home on Jan. 10, 2005. The funeral will be Friday at 8:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in West Stockbridge. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Richmond Council on Aging in care of the funeral home.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline and Elizabeth, and three brothers, Jack, Donald and Francis.
