Edward Ernest Archey Sr.

Edward Ernest Archey Sr., 93, of 43 Kensington Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 10, 1911, the son of Peter and Celine Touche Archey, he was a 1930 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He also graduated cum laude from Providence College with a degree in liberal arts.
Mr. Archey was employed by GE as a supervisor of stock control from 1936 until his retirement in 1973.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. He also enjoyed gardening.
He and his wife, the former Leah M. Hooper, were married May 8, 1937, at Notre Dame Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Edward E. Archey Jr. of Troy, N.Y., Richard J. Archey of Pittsfield and Lawrence M. Archey of Springfield; five daughters, Regina L. Decker and Joan Monterosso, both of Pittsfield, Gladys M. Hajicek of Cottonwood, Ariz., Jeanne Archey of Cornville, Ariz., and Patricia L. Archey of Worcester; 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Edward E. Archey Sr., who died Dec. 27, 2004, will be Friday at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will be Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at 10 in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Mont Marie Health Care Center in loving memory of Mr. Archey's brother, the Rev. Eugene Archey.
He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, the Rev. Eugene Archey, Francis Archey and Henry Archey, and by four sisters, Ida Rando, Lottie Haggerty, Mary LeFebvre and Rita O'Laughlin.
