Marjorie D. Bond

Marjorie D. Bond, 85, formerly of Rosewood Assisted Living, died Wednesday morning at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for a short time.

Born in Pittsfield on July 18, 1919, daughter of Calvin and Mildred Samuels Bolio, she was a 1937 graduate of the former Central High School.

Mrs. Bond had been employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools as a cafeteria worker for 25 years, retiring from Taconic High School in 1987.

She had also worked at the former Crane School for 13 years and at the former Pomeroy School.

She attended South Congregational Church.

She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, and doing ceramics in her earlier years.

Her husband, John R. Bond, whom she married Sept. 6, 1941, died Jan. 6, 1972.

She leaves a daughter, Shirley Anderson of Pittsfield; a son, Robert A. Bond of Port Orange, Fla., three grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Marjorie D. Bolio Bond, age 85, was called safely home on Dec. 22, 2004. The funeral will be conducted Monday at 1 at Pittsfield Cemetery by the Rev. Charles Young. There will be no calling hours.

Friends are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friend desire, donations in her memory may be made to SPCA or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Charles Anderson; her grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Richard Latura, Michael Anderson and Joanne Pettit, Corey and Gwen Bishop; her great-granddaughters, Casondra Latura, Sidni and Emelia Anderson, and Rylie Bishop; her sister-in-law, Carretta Bolio, and her niece, who was her caregiver, Kim Bolio.

She was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Bolio, and by an infant brother, Russell Bolio. She will be remembered by all of her loving, extended family.
