Sister Mary Dugan

Sister Mary Dugan of the Sisters of Mercy, 77, of the Convent of Mercy, Albany, N.Y., died yesterday at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, N.Y. She was the sister of Ann Langlais of Pittsfield.
Born in Albany on June 13, 1927, daughter of John and Mary Hickey Dugan, she earned her associate's degree from St. Peter's Hospital School of Nursing in Albany.
She was a Sister of Mercy for 59 years, taking her vows as Sister Mary Coronata.
Sister Dugan spent most of her ministry as a nurse at St. Peter's Hospital, from 1948 to 1995.
She also taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at St. James' Church in North Creek, N.Y., from 1961 to 1964.
Besides her sister, she leaves another sister, Regina Garner of Maineville, Ohio.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Viewing hours will be from 4 to 7 today, Dec. 22, in the Convent of Mercy Chapel, 634 New Scotland Ave., Albany, N.Y. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a prayer service of remembrance in the chapel at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 23, at the Convent of Mercy.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Third Avenue, East Greenbush, N.Y. The Sisters of Mercy are very grateful to the staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for the excellent care given to Sister during her illness. She also is survived by several cherished nieces and nephews and grandnieces and -nephews. She was the sister of the late Edwin Francis Dugan.
