David C. Sullivan

David C. Sullivan, 22, of 105 Meadow St., Amherst, died Tuesday at home as a result of a gunshot wound.
A senior at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he had resided there for the past three years while attending college.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 28, 1982, son of Daniel C. Sullivan and Mary Lou Pretti Sullivan Matheson, he was a 15-year resident of Washington, where he attended Washington Elementary School.
He also attended Nessacus Middle School and was a 2000 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, where he was a member of the football team.
At UMass, Mr. Sullivan majored in construction management and real estate and would have graduated this month. He had planned to move to North Carolina to take a position as a project engineer with a large construction firm.
For the past three years, he owned a painting company, which he operated in the summer in the Berkshires.
He was a member of the Dalton CRA, where he enjoyed lifting weights and working out. He was a fan of the Yankees and the New England Patriots.
Besides his father, of Pittsfield, and his mother, of LaFargeville, N.Y., he leaves two brothers, Nathan D. Sullivan of Syracuse, N.Y., and Daniel C. Sullivan of Pittsfield; two sisters, Sarah A. Pratt of Chester and Rachel L. Sullivan, a student at Westfield State College, and his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Ann Sullivan of Saugus.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- David C. Sullivan, 22, a senior at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday at noon at Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm St., Everett, conducted by Pastor Thomas Coots.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service for Dave will be celebrated Friday at 10 at St. Agnes' Church, 489 Main St., Dalton, by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. David was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, David and Agnes Pretti. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the David C. Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Fund to be established at Wahconah Regional High School to honor a student who possesses David's attributes as an outstanding student, athlete and friend to others. Memorial donations may be made in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Condolences to the family may also be made at www.deryfuneralhome.com. His girlfriend, Kim Arasimowicz, had planned to relocate with him to North Carolina, where she planned to transfer to another college. They had planned to marry after her graduation.
