Juanita E. Leslie, 83, formerly of 19 Brown St., died Sunday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since February 2001.
Born in Suffield, Conn., on July 30, 1921, daughter of Joseph and Ethel Boutwell King, she attended schools in Pittsfield.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Leslie worked for GE and the former England Brothers department store.
She was active in Morningside Baptist Church and a member of its Rachael Circle.
She was involved with the former Boys' Club and was nominated for its Mother of the Year award.
She was also a member of the former Morningside Softball League and enjoyed knitting.
Her husband, Alexander "Scotty" Leslie, whom she married Oct. 12, 1940, died Aug. 12, 1989.
She leaves a son, Craig A. Leslie of Etters, Pa.; a daughter, Suzanne Bejian of Garner, N.C.; a brother, William King of Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by another son, Kirk A. Leslie.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Juanita E. Leslie, who died Dec. 12, 2004, will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at Morningside Baptist Church by the Rev. Linda M. Shaw, pastor. A private burial will be held in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morningside Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
