Amelia C. Crowley, 88, a former longtime resident of Brown Street, died Tuesday evening at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 7, 1916, daughter of Raphael and Alessandrina Caparelli Carnevale, she was a 1934 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended the former Berkshire Business College.
A homemaker, Mrs. Crowley had been employed at one time by the former Kaufman Confectionery Co.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
For many years, she volunteered at the Red Cross for blood drives.
Her husband, Walter Crowley, is deceased.
She leaves a son, Jon E. Crowley of Abilene, Texas; a sister, Josephine Carnevale of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Amelia C. Crowley, age 88, was called safely home on Dec. 7, 2004. The funeral will be celebrated Friday at 10 at St. Mary the Morning Star Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 9 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church in care of the funeral home.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Phillip and Anthony; daughter-in-law, Lynn Crowley; sister-in-law, Florence Carnevale; her niece, Celeste Perkins, and her nephew, Mark Carnevale. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Nolan and Marie Carnevale, and by her brother, Frank Carnevale.
