Margaret H. Cavanaugh, 86, of North Hill Assisted Living in Needham, formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at North Hill.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 12, 1918, daughter of Thomas P. and Helena Wickham Hennelly, she was a graduate of Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart.
Mrs. Cavanaugh was a homemaker.
She lived in West Newton for 27 years, Wellesley Hills for eight years and in Needham for five years.
She was a member of Braeburn Country Club in West Newton and of the Lords and Ladies of the Holy Sepulcher.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Thomas E. Cavanaugh Jr.
She leaves three sons, Thomas E. Cavanaugh III of Sparta, N.J., Paul S. Cavanaugh of North Wales, Pa., and Richard P. Cavanaugh of Stamford, Conn.; three daughters, Suzanne C. Laven of East Greenwich, R.I., Jane C. Lang of Concord and Mary Louise Cavanaugh of Boston; a sister, Jane S. Hennelly of Pittsfield; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A funeral will be from GEORGE F. DOHERTY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 477 Washington St. (Route 16), Wellesley, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Paul's Church, Wellesley, at 11. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Friday from 3 to 8. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.

She was the sister of the late Mary H. Callinan, Dr. Thomas P. Hennelly, M.D., Louise H. Sullivan and John W. Hennelly.
