Gordon A. Spinney

Gordon A. Spinney, 71, of 21 Ann Drive died Saturday at home.
Born in Greenville, Maine, on March 9, 1933, son of Albert and Violet Stilwell Spinney, he was a graduate of schools there.
He also graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor of science degree in education in 1955. He earned his master's degree in English from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., in 1967.
He served two years in the Army at Fort Lee, Va.
Mr. Spinney taught English at Columbia High School in East Greenbush, N.Y., for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
He and his partner, Gregg A. Voci Sr., were married at Pittsfield City Hall on May 20, 2004.
Besides his partner, he leaves a son, Scott Allan Spinney of Ashburn, Va., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Gordon A. Spinney, who died Nov. 28, 2004, will be conducted Friday, Dec. 3, at 2 at St. Joseph's Cemetery by the Rev. James C. Dannals, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
At Gordon's request, cremation took place. There will be no calling hours. Survivors include two grandchildren, Shaun and Kirk Spinney. He also leaves his beloved pet, Mitzi.
A celebration of Gordon's life will take place for friends at the Spinney-Voci residence, 21 Ann Drive, on Friday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., is in charge of arrangements.
