Lydia Quinn

Lydia Quinn, 94, died Tuesday afternoon at Curtis Manor Retirement Home, where she had resided for four years.
Born in Dalton on March 7, 1910, daughter of Otto and Lydia Kellar Bachli, she attended Dalton schools and graduated from the former Berkshire Business School.
Mrs. Quinn was employed at Berkshire Life Insurance Co. as an insurance underwriter and front desk receptionist until 1965. She also worked in Washington at the Willard Hotel as a front desk receptionist.
After her marriage to James T. Quinn on June 5, 1965, she moved to Rockport, where she was active in civic groups and a gardening club. She returned to Dalton in 1978.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, classical music, operas, animals and spending time with family and friends.
Her husband died on their 10th wedding anniversary, June 5, 1975.
She leaves three sisters, Lillian Bachli Shelsy of Pittsfield, Alice Bachli Way of Lockport, N.Y., and Rosalie Bachli Stevens of Dalton, and a brother, Werner O. Bachli of Lenox.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lydia will be held at the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton, on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at 11. Following cremation, burial will be private in the Bachli Family plot in the Main Street Cemetery, Dalton.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Curtis Manor in care of the funeral home. She leaves many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, especially Susan Bachli of Dalton and Michael Shelsy of Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Jacob "Butch" Bachli and David G. Bachli, both of Dalton.
