DALTON, Mass. — Dorothy Elizabeth "Dot" Wright, 64, of 255 Grange Hall Road died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2004, at home.
Born in Detroit on Nov. 5, 1940, daughter of Joseph and Leona Eland Lesko, she graduated from high school in Michigan and later from Berkshire Community College. She resided in Pittsfield for 25 years before moving to Dalton two years ago.
Mrs. Wright had been employed in the Pittsfield city clerk's office since 1985, beginning as senior clerk. A year later, she became secretary of the Licensing Board. She had been assistant city clerk since 1997. Earlier, she had worked at the former England Brothers Department Store.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church. While in Pittsfield, she was a communicant of St. Mark's Church. An avid gardener, she was a member of the Springside Greenhouse Group in Pittsfield.
Her husband, Dannie Wright, whom she married May 13, 1961, in Michigan, died Dec. 25, 2003.
She leaves two sons, Thomas E. Wright of Portland, Conn., and James A. Wright of Pittsfield; a sister, Cathleen Montague of Clio, Mich., and three grandchildren, Christopher, Jack and Katy.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wright will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 27, at 9 at St. Agnes' Church, 489 Main St., Dalton, by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor.
Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 26, from 6 to 8 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
