Helen Meloveck

Helen Meloveck, 75, of 45 Appletree Lane, a former longtime resident of Pittsfield, died Wednesday night, Nov. 17, at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for two weeks.
Born in Adams on March 27, 1929, daughter of John W. and Anna Mazur Koza, she attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of the former Adams High School.
Mrs. Meloveck was employed as a bookkeeper at Wohrles, retiring in 1967. Earlier she was employed at the former Pittsfield General Hospital in the credit department and at the former Ken Whitmore Coat Factory.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality.
She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bingo, playing the lottery, horse racing and polka dancing.
Her husband, Joseph J. Meloveck Sr., whom she married May 30, 1950, in St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams, died July 30, 1987.
She leaves two sons, David S. Meloveck of Dalton, with whom she made her home, and Joseph J. Meloveck Jr. of Pittsfield; a sister, Stephanie Mandeville of Pittsfield and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Helen Koza Meloveck, 75, was called safely home on Nov. 17, 2004. The funeral will be Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes' Church in Dalton.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home. She was the loving Babci to Timothy Meloveck, Marybeth Morse and Patrick Meloveck.
She is also survived by her loving daughters-in law, Joan Meloveck and Audrey St. Pierre. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
