Mary C. Girard, 73, of 245 Cheshire Road died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 1, 1931, daughter of Marziale and Catherine Zaffino Carlopoli, she attended local schools, including Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Girard was last employed as a secretary at the Berkshire Auto and Just Like New used-car dealerships.
She first worked as an assembler in the power transformer department at GE for 13 years, then for Berkshire Medical Center for 14 1/2 years as a transport aide and at Berkshire County Consumer Advocates as a clerk typist.
Her husband of 26 years, Alfred D. Girard, died June 8, 1981.
She leaves three sons, Andrew Girard, David Girard and Donald Girard, all of Pittsfield; four daughters, Kathy Giguere, Joyce Todd and Judy Hopkins, all of Pittsfield, and Cindy Goss of North Adams; three brothers, Carmen Carlopoli of San Diego, John Anthony Carlopoli of Las Vegas and Marziale Francis Carlopoli of Pittsfield; three sisters, Theresa Wyand, Delores "Lola" Warren and Nancy Costa, all of Pittsfield, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves her longtime companion, Robert Wuinee.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mary C. Carlopoli Girard, age 73, was called safely home on Nov. 17, 2004. The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 1 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in care of the funeral home.
