Evelyn M. Leonardo

Evelyn M. Leonardo, 79, died yesterday morning at Craneville Place, where she had resided since October 2002.

Born in Cambridge on Sept. 1, 1925, daughter of Virgil and Margaret Morison Orff, she was educated in Brookline schools and was a 1943 graduate of Brookline High School.

She had resided on Brook Street in Brookline for many years.

A homemaker, Mrs. Leonardo was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Brookline.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, movies and doing crossword puzzles.

She and her husband, Louis R. Leonardo, were married June 13, 1947.

Besides her husband, of Dalton, she leaves two sons, Bruce V. Leonardo of Las Vegas and Hugh R. Leonardo of Glendale, Ariz.; two daughters, Lois Leonardo-Bell of Middlefield and Lynn S. Leonardo of Bryan, Texas; a brother, Virgil C. Orff of Amherst, N.H.; a sister, Virginia L. Ward of Hudson, N.H.; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Evelyn M. Leonardo, 79, a devoted mother and grandmother who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, will be held Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 at BELL-O'DEA FUNERAL HOME, 376 Washington St., Brookline.

Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Brookline. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Leonardo may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton 01226, which is in charge of local arrangements.
