Antonio F. Sinopoli, 86, formerly of 176 Columbus Ave., died Friday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Lee on Aug. 17, 1918, son of Salvatore and Marianna Sicchitano Sinopoli, he attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1936.
He resided in Chelmsford and in the Boston area, returning to Pittsfield in 2000.
A decorated Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he served as a corporal.
Mr. Sinopoli operated a barber shop in Chelmsford for 50 years.
He also had worked in a Boston hotel, where he was a barber for Ted Williams and other Red Sox players.
He enjoyed playing cards and his guitar.
His wife, the former Josephine Novello, died in 2000.
He leaves a brother, Louis Sinopoli, and a sister, Jennie Sinopoli, both of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Antonio F. Sinopoli, 86, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004. A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 1 at the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church. There will be no calling hours.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard, Salvatore and Patrick Sinopoli, and six sisters, Virginia Angelini, Sarah DiGiorgis, Anna Balestro, Theresa Krebs, Rose Williams and Katherine Valentino. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. is in charge of arrangements.
