Cora A. Ryan, 88, of 120 Onota St. died yesterday morning at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since May.
Born in Windham Center, Pa., on July 19, 1916, daughter of Howard and Lena Doane Brown, she graduated from the former Le Raysville (Pa.) High School near there.
She moved to North Adams in 1940 and later to Fisk Street in Adams.
Mrs. Ryan was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams as an assembly supervisor in its various mills, retiring after many years from the Union Street plant.
While in Adams, she was a communicant of St. Thomas' Church.
She was a past president and spiritual adviser of the North Adams Emblem Club.
Her husband, William Ryan, died in 1980.
She leaves a daughter, Betty Felt of the state of Florida; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Damon.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A scriptural reading for funerals for Cora A. Ryan, who died Nov. 6, 2004, will be offered Tuesday, Nov. 9, at noon at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
A public visitation period will take place Tuesday from 10 until the service at noon. Survivors include a niece, Marie Berthold of Highland Heights, Ohio, and seven grandchildren, David, Douglas and Darren Felt, Alan Damon, Diane Nobels, Cathy Bickley and Donna Dixon.
She was predeceased by her twin, Dora Brown Landry, in 1985, and her brother, Howard Brown.
