Eugene R. Grant, 73, of 32 Weller Ave. died Saturday at home.
Born in Stockbridge on July 25, 1931, son of Ralph and Eulalia Dunne Grant, he attended schools in Stockbridge.
He moved to Pittsfield in 1956.
Mr. Grant was employed by GE as an expediter for 18 years and later worked for Schweitzer-Mauduit International, retiring in 1996 with 25 years of service.
He was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and a Eucharistic minister, and a 4th-degree member of Bishop Conaty Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed reading, traveling and spending winters in the South.
He and his wife, the former Norma J. Biasin, were married June 2, 1956, in West Stockbridge.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Jeffrey E. Grant of The Woodlands, Texas; two daughters, Kelly J. Torchio and Kim L. Barry, both of Pittsfield, and seven grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Eugene R. Grant died in Pittsfield on Nov. 6, 2004. He was the beloved father-in-law of John Torchio, Robert Barry Jr. and Michelle Grant. The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Nov. 9, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Charles' Church Renovation Fund or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Grant was the loving grandfather to Christopher, Lauren and Courtney Grant, Jeffrey and Anthony Archambault, and Patrick and Sean Barry. He also leaves nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Clark, and a half-brother, Nelson Wade.
