Josephine M. Jakacky

Josephine M. Jakacky, 78, of 1494 Snake Hill Road, North Scituate, R.I., died Wednesday at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was a former resident of 184 Dalton Ave.

Born in Pittsfield on May 3, 1926, daughter of James and Margaret Candilore Albano, she was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mrs. Jakacky had been employed by the former GE naval ordnance plant for 21 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church.

She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking.

Her husband, Anthony J. Jakacky, whom she married Nov. 23, 1946, died Feb. 23, 2003.

She leaves three sons, Anthony J. Jakacky of Gold Beach, Ore., Ronald F. Jakacky of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Gary J. Jakacky of Pittsfield; a daughter, Nancy Jakacky O'Reilly of North Scituate, R.I.; a brother, Donald T. Albano of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Nancy A. Leone and Frances A. Devanny, both of Pittsfield, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Josephine M. Jakacky, age 78, died Nov. 3, 2004. Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the funeral home. She is lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, Tricia, Joseph, Kristen, Camilla, Jared, Aladino and James, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Corrine, Anna and Jacob.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph J., Angelo "Tote" and Gabriel "Bill" Albano, and her sisters, Brunina Williams, Philomena Davis and Ann M. Pivero.
